Yes Kentucky, You Were Punk'd (Part 2)

I know that Governor Fletcher (R) prefers that we not talk about his record, but let's.

Seems that I must have missed the press release from the governor's office on Friday concerning the latest economic numbers that were published which showed a pretty staggering 5.2% increase in the Kentucky's unemployment rolls in just one month, as an additional 5,800 Kentuckians became unemployed in July (117,100 total).

Meanwhile -- for the second straight month -- Kentucky saw a loss of jobs. Currently 1,853,500 Kentuckians are employed, down 1,100 from June, down 3,300 from May, and down 5,300 since March. Since Fletcher took office in December 2003, 61,200 new jobs have been created in the state -- one of the weakest increases in the nation.

Of course, when he campaigned in 2003, Fletcher promised the voters "a lot more than 100,000 good jobs" but hasn't come close to delivering. By the way, if Kentucky had experienced simply "average growth" (average of the 50 states), it would have created 105,360 jobs. But then, that would have taken at least an "average" governor.

Following-up yesterday's nostalgic look back at the Fletcher-Pence 2003 television ads, here's another one that focused on -- you guessed it -- Fletcher's promise of "a lot more than 100,000 good jobs":
