Day 2: More Lunsford Plagiarism
Okay, you ready for more?
Recall this morning that I asked you to file away in your memory banks the latest Bruce Lunsford (D) excuse for his Florida heist of campaign ideas in his Glueprint for Change. Apparently, Lunsford's communications director, Tait Sye, had worked for Jim Davis' campaign last year and helped write his campaign plan, so naturally there would be similarities between Davis' ideas and the Glueprint. Or something lame like that.
So, I suppose they will now tell us that their "Blueprint for Clean Alternative Energy" (p. 19) was written by a former Bush Administration staffer who worked for the EPA?
Here's from an EPA outline for a January 17, 2006 forum:
Many state and local governments are leading by example with energy efficiency and renewable energy (EE/RE) programs for their own facilities and fleets. Lead by Example programs take many forms, including:
• Incorporating clean energy principles into statewide energy policies.
Several states are incorporating specific clean energy goals and objectives for state facilities in their state energy plans.
• Adopting energy efficiency savings goals for existing public buildings.
States also set energy savings goals for existing facilities, typically expressed as percentage targets with calendar milestones (e.g., reducing energy use per square foot by 20% by 2010).
• Establishing energy efficiency performance standards for public buildings.
Some states establish sustainable design principles that incorporate energy efficiency criteria in performance standards for new and renovated buildings and facilities.
• Purchasing and using renewable energy and clean energy generation in public facilities.
State and local agencies have established clean energy supply targets that are met through on-site generation or by purchasing green power electricity or renewable energy certificates.
• Procuring energy-efficient equipment for public facilities, including implementing “green fleets” programs.
• Developing innovative financing mechanisms.
And here's from page 19 of the Lunsford Glueprint:
1. Kentucky State Government Will Take the First Steps
The Lunsford-Stumbo Administration will lead by example and ensure that state government is not wasting energy. We will leverage the state’s massive purchasing power and buy energy-efficient cars, such as hybrid or bio-diesel vehicles. Any new state vehicle purchases will be hybrid vehicles. In other areas, the state will also exert its financial muscle, and lead by example. From the construction of new energy-efficient buildings to purchasing energy-efficient light bulbs, the Lunsford-Stumbo Administration will raise awareness and save taxpayer dollars by spending less on overhead. The state will work closely with local governments, schools, colleges and universities, parks and recreation facilities, and other public sector organizations to promote clean energy within their operations.
Among the components are:
- Adopting energy-efficiency savings goals for existing public buildings.
- Establishing energy efficiency performance standards for new and renovated public buildings.
- Procuring energy-efficient equipment for public facilities, such as vehicles, air-condition units, lighting.
- Purchasing and using renewable energy and clean energy generation equipment in public facilities.
- Developing innovative financing mechanisms, such as energy-efficiency loan funds and a financing program with private sector investors to capture energy savings.
I guess it is possible that a Republican like Lunsford would hire the Bush Administration staffer that prepared this outline last year, and since the concepts are so similar, well, they might read exactly the same.
Either that or Lunsford's genius blueprint that he and Greg Stumbo "took some time this year to sit down and write" is...how you say...fraudulent?
P.S. - By the way, I love my readers. I really, really do, as this tip came by way of another reader who did his own research to find this gem. Keep those tips coming...
UPDATE: (12:09 PM): The Courier-Journal has a side-by-side of the obvious plagiarism by both Bruce Lunsford (D) and Steve Beshear (D) (looks like he has own problem) that's worth a close look. Let's hope they add this one to their growing list as well.

MARK:
YOU ARE ON FIRE!!! KEEP IT UP!

Again, it's the lack of attribution and Lunsford's words that keep haunting him, that they "sat down together and wrote the plan".
The hits just keep on coming, don't they?

I am loving this!!!
"You don't build a house without a blueprint"
More like I am building s copy of someone elses house without their permission!
NO TO LUMBO
NO TO HENRY!
I HEAR HENRY is broke and had to get a LOAN!!!
Any truth to that?

I don't know about Henry being broke, but I just visited his website, and it is lame.
Under issues, there's just one paper about "Coalfields to Cornfields". Just one.
Doesn't Henry have more to run on than that?
This seems like the flip side of Lunsfraud's plagiarism? Lunsfraud couldn't buy originality, and Henry can't afford to buy it, or is too lazy to come up with much.

On responsibility for plagairizing his platform: "The buck stops in Tallahassee" (Truman)
On the KDP: "You're doin' a heckuva job, Lundy" (Bush2)
On his campaign: "Ask not what Bruce Lunsford can do for you, but what you can do for Bruce Lunsford." (JFK)
On his debate style: "Speak softly and sound like a big prick." (Teddy Roosevelt)
On the state senate: "Mr. Williams, tear down this wall!" (Reagan)
On his pledge not to go negative: "I want a kinder, gentler campaign." (Bush1)
